Garcima La Ideal shallow pan made of enamelled carbon steel, measuring 32cm in diameter. Garcima is a renowned Spanish maker of quality paella pans. Based in Alacuas (Valencia), where it has been crafting its pans since 1940, Garcima paella pans feature a special bottom that guarantees the delicate, even cooking that distinguishes the original Valencian paella. The range includes traditional polished pans and enamelled pans with a contemporary stone-effect finish. All the pans are induction safe, if the proper steps are followed. Garcima paella pans are primarily made of carbon steel—an ideal metal for maintaining the constant temperature needed for cooking a Valencian paella to perfection. Besides paellas, the pans are also ideal for sautéing mussels and shellfish, pan-frying meat, fish and vegetables and frying chips and fritters. A characteristic of carbon steel is that it keeps the temperature of the pan constant throughout cooking, enabling a tasty crust to form. Garcima enamelled carbon steel pans feature a contemporary stone-effect finish that makes them practical for everyday use, easy to clean and store and oven safe. Garcima paella pans are primarily made of carbon steel—an ideal metal for maintaining the constant temperature needed for cooking a Valencian paella to perfection. Besides paellas, the pans are also ideal for sautéing mussels and shellfish, pan-frying meat, fish and vegetables and frying chips and fritters. A characteristic of carbon steel is that it keeps the temperature of the pan constant throughout cooking, enabling a tasty crust to form. Before first use, remove the sticker attached to the inside of the pan by heating the pan slightly to loosen it. Wash the pan with water and dishwashing detergent and then dry immediately—never leave the pan to air dry. When cooking, avoid striking the pan with kitchen utensils. Never heat the pans when empty. Always avoid overheating the pans by heating slowly and checking the heat constantly. Enamelled pans are oven safe. Do not use in a microwave oven. Stainless steel or wooden utensils can be used when cooking with the pan, but avoid striking the pan with them. Avoid temperature shocks, as they may damage the enamelling. The enamelling makes the pan easy to clean, but it not a non-stick coating. To remove residues of food, we recommend leaving the pan to soak in hot water with dishwashing detergent for an hour at most and, if necessary, scrub with a non-abrasive sponge. Wash the pan and then dry thoroughly—never leave the pan to air dry. Only use non-abrasive sponges and non-aggressive detergents so as not to damage the enamelling. Given the high temperatures reached by the pans, never leave the pan unattended on the cooktop or without the supervision of an adult. Keep out of reach of children.
