About us

1946

The foundation. Right after the end of World War II, an enterprising sales representative, Mr. Alfredo Rosso, decided to start a factory for the production of coffee makers: ILSA (the acronym for Industria Laminazione Stampaggio Alluminio, i.e. Factory for rolling and pressing aluminum) was founded in Turin.

The 50s – “Napoletana”

Based on the intuition and will of the founder, the factory was dedicated to the production of those items that had been missing in the Italians’ kitchens during the war. The first item produced under the ILSA brand is the iconic Napoletana coffee maker made of 99% pure aluminium, which became the symbol of a regained wealth on the tables of Italians who went back to drinking coffee after the sacrifices imposed by the war.

The 60s – Aluminium

The company specializes in the production of aluminium pots, pans, frying pans and coffee pots, which fill the factory along with water canteens and military mess tins. The second generation of the Rosso family joins the first, bringing innovation and ingenuity to the different production processes.

The 70s – The steel and the cast iron

At the beginning of the 70s the first stainless steel items were introduced to the market. It is in this sector that the company consolidates and establishes itself above all as a producer of holloware. With the introduction of items made of cast-iron, the Dietella series was launched: to this day, Dietella cast-iron grill pans are still among the company’s best-selling products. The company dedicates itself to product development that, in the span of twenty years, leads to an exponential amplification of the assortment.

The 80/90s – Innovation

The third generation of the Rosso family takes the reins of ILSA, proceeding with the computerization of the company and the renewal of machinery and equipment. The investments of the decade lay the foundations for the commercial turnaround: ILSA addresses the Ho.Re.Ca market and the development of products designed for professionals.

The new millennium

Beside supplying over 2000 items worldwide from its catalogue, ILSA is also the Italian official distributor of Garcima’s paella pans and Efay’s melamine buffet items.

2019 – Porcelain

Ilsa enters the porcelain market by acquiring a new brand, Le Coq Porcelaine. The company undertakes a new commercial adventure, offering a new complete assortment of elegant and innovative table solutions to all Ho.Re.Ca. professionals.
